New Single Storey Entertainment Pavilion

The owners of this property have a large 1300m2 property in Dalkeith. The original house on the block was a 1980’s project home which we designed a complete renovation of several years earlier.

After living in the renovated home for a few years, the owners decided they needed to have a large indoor area where they could entertain friends, family and guests, which they didn’t have the space for in the existing home. It was then decided to design a pavilion situated in the rear yard, which was at the time unused and a waste of space.

The idea was to push the pavilion as far back to the rear of the block as possible, in order to take advantage of the northerly aspect. The pool was situated between the existing home and the pavilion to provide a focal point for the whole outdoor area.

The pavilion has an open plan living/ dining and kitchen space with a series of glass bifold doors opening up along the north elevation and overlooking the pool and outdoor area. There is also a bathroom and WC/ powder room.
